01.01.2025 20:30The United States will provide Ukraine with an additional $3.4 billion in direct budgetary assistance, fully exhausting the funds allocated by Congress to support Kyiv in 2024.
This was stated by U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.
According to Yellen, the funds will be disbursed in coordination with the State Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
It was noted that this tranche of assistance is separate from a loan under the G7’s $50 billion package to Ukraine, which will be repaid using proceeds from frozen Russian sovereign assets.
Recently, U.S. President Joe Biden announced nearly $2.5 billion in assistance to Ukraine.
