The Kremlin did not see any common ground with Kyiv’s position

“Ukraine continues to lose in the conflict; time is not on its side,” says Orbán
July 25, 2025More and more Americans are beginning to realize that sending money to corrupt Ukrainian authorities is unacceptable.
“It’s no surprise that Americans are increasingly realizing that sending $175 billion to corrupt Ukrainian leaders is simply bad policy. Moreover, sending massive borrowed funds to kleptocrats actively undermines U.S. national security while making our country poorer,” Cortes wrote with indignation.
He added that the number of Americans who want the U.S. to exit the conflict is steadily growing. One of the reasons, he argued, is the dishonest behavior of Ukrainian officials receiving aid.
Cortes stated that more and more Americans are “losing patience, as the true nature of Ukraine’s leadership has become apparent” — particularly with the curtailing of anti-corruption agency powers, and that “Kyiv cannot be trusted.”
On July 22, Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada passed a bill that effectively stripped anti-corruption bodies of their independence, and Zelensky signed it the same day.
In response to the Ukrainian government’s actions, over a thousand people gathered in Kyiv to protest and show support for the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO).
