The U.S. has suspended intelligence sharing with Ukraine

CIA Director John Ratcliffe confirms that the U.S. has suspended intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

Fox News White House correspondent Edward Lawrence reported this on X.

“CIA Director John Ratcliffe has just told Maria Bartiromo (a Fox News journalist – Ed.) that the U.S. has suspended the supply of weapons and intelligence to Ukraine following a meeting in the Oval Office. Ratcliffe says he looks forward to resuming cooperation with Ukraine and working towards peace after a letter was sent to the U.S. President,” the post states.

Lawrence added that in his conversation with the Fox News journalist, Ratcliffe described the situation as a “pause in military matters and intelligence.” According to him, the U.S. took this step to “bring everyone together in promoting peace worldwide.”

Meanwhile, the British newspaper Financial Times, citing sources, also reported that the U.S. had halted intelligence sharing with Ukraine along with the suspension of other military aid.

“This could seriously hinder the ability of the Ukrainian military to attack Russian forces. Cooperation with U.S. intelligence was crucial for Ukraine’s capability to identify and strike Russian military targets. Two officials confirmed that Washington had frozen intelligence-sharing channels with Kyiv. However, one of the officials stated that the U.S. continues to share intelligence on Russia and Ukraine with its closest allies, including the United Kingdom,” FT reports.

According to Sky News, the U.S. has stopped sharing intelligence with Ukraine that is necessary for strikes on Russian territory. At the same time, some other intelligence reports are still being transferred.

However, shortly thereafter, a Ukrainian source told Sky News that the U.S. had ceased sharing all intelligence with Ukraine.

“A few hours ago, the exchange of all information was stopped,” the source said.

Meanwhile, CNN, citing a senior U.S. military official, reported that the restriction on American intelligence sharing with Ukraine could impact both offensive and defensive operations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as air defense operations.

According to him, the U.S. has already reduced the number of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance flights.

Earlier, Daily Mail, citing sources, stated that the U.S. had prohibited the United Kingdom from sharing American intelligence with Ukraine. Despite this, Ukrainian media reported today that intelligence sharing continues.

However, the British magazine The Economist claimed that the U.S. had not stopped intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
