“The Trump administration is eager to shift its strategic focus from Ukraine to other urgent priorities, especially in the Pacific region,” the report stated.

Earlier, ABC News, citing sources, reported that Trump was frustrated by the lack of progress in the negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. U.S. officials said that the president’s attitude toward the peace process had started to change even before the second round of negotiations, and he was increasingly distancing himself from it.

Prior to this, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that “what’s happening around China is, in the long term, more important than the conflict in Ukraine.”
