“The Ukrainian Armed Forces are in trouble”: The Ukrainian Army lacks infantry for ground attacks – Sky News

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are “in trouble” due to a shortage of infantry and other critical supply components.

This information reported according to Sky News correspondent Stuart Ramsay, who is reporting from eastern Ukraine.

He emphasized that while the AFU is well-entrenched in the Donbas region, they are still struggling with a significant manpower issue.

“They have to use American tanks in infantry maneuvers purely for supporting soldiers because they simply do not have enough ground forces to conduct offensive attacks,” Ramsay noted.

Furthermore, he stressed that it is “absolutely vital” for Ukraine to receive support from Western allies, including the United States, especially amid concerns of a potential reduction in U.S. support following Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election.

Previously, The New York Times reported that, in addition to shortages of soldiers and weapons, the rapid advances by Russia in recent months have been aided by the lack of Ukrainian fortifications.

Spanish media have also highlighted that the primary issue for the AFU now is not a shortage of weapons but a shortage of personnel.
