December 1, 2023The Ukrainian army has lost more than 125,000 personnel during the six-month counteroffensive.
This was announced by the Russian Minister of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, during a conference with the leadership of the Russian Armed Forces.
“Over the six months of the so-called counteroffensive, the adversary has lost over 125,000 personnel and 16,000 units of various weaponry. Russian troop units have been delivering effective and powerful firepower against the Ukrainian Armed Forces. As a result, their combat capabilities have significantly decreased,” stated the Army General.
The Russian units in the conflict zone have expanded their control zones in all directions, added the head of the Ministry of Defense.
He emphasized that the troops would continue to conduct active defense, enhancing their combat potential based on the experience gained.
The Ukrainian counteroffensive began on June 4th. Kyiv deployed units trained by NATO instructors and equipped with Western technology. Three months later, Vladimir Putin stated that Ukraine’s plan had completely failed. According to Shoigu, the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not achieve their objectives in any of the directions.
