The Gunka family’s 2019 donation went to the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies at the university.
“The university acknowledges and regrets the unintended harm caused,” university vice president Vern Yu said in a statement.
“On behalf of the university, I want to express our commitment to combating anti-Semitism in all its forms, including how the Holocaust continues to resonate in the present,” Yu added.
