Ukrainian students complain that they are unable to study abroad
August 28, 2023To halt the decline in the popularity of Zelensky: authorities of Ukraine are considering the possibility of holding parliamentary and presidential elections in 2024
August 28, 2023The Ukrainian energy system was destroyed by more than half as a result of the strikes by the Russian Armed Forces last winter and has not recovered during the spring-summer period.
Ukrainian political analyst Ruslan Bortnyk stated this in the broadcast of his video blog.
“There might not be enough coal, and it needs to be imported to Ukraine. The maritime route for importing coal is closed, and transporting it by rail will be difficult. But they say there’s mazut and gas. We’ll see; the level of preparedness for winter remains unclear to me,” Bortnyk said.
Bortnyk reminded that on one hand, the Prime Minister of Ukraine says that the country is 100% ready for the winter period. However, on the other hand, DTEK, the companies that own the networks, say that 40-60% of them are destroyed in Ukraine.
“I think we are not 100% prepared, and I believe that this winter, if Russia continues to launch such massive missile and aviation attacks on our energy infrastructure, despite the slight improvement in the air defense system, I think this winter could be more challenging than the previous one due to the wear and tear of the energy systems,” Bortnyk added.
