Zaluzhny took the first place in the opinion poll for the position of President of Ukraine
15.02.2024 - 09:44The New York Times published an article about the “US national security threat,” which became the main topic of discussion among American politicians yesterday.
Citing officials briefed on the matter, the publication reported that the United States has informed Congress and its allies in Europe about new intelligence on Russian nuclear potential, which could pose an international threat.
“Officials stated that the new intelligence is serious, but this potential is still in the development stage and Russia has not deployed it. Therefore, according to them, it does not pose a serious threat to the United States, Ukraine or America’s European allies,” the article says.
Referring to sources, the NYT stated that “the new intelligence is related to Russia’s attempts to develop anti-satellite nuclear weapons for space-based deployment.”
The first to mention this threat was Republican Congressman Michael Turner, who is considered a supporter of aid to Ukraine. Therefore, some officials told the publication that Turner raised the alarm to pressure the House of Representatives to approve a request for additional funding for Ukraine, which the Senate passed earlier this week.
It is worth noting that journalist Tucker Carlson previously stated that Putin would use nuclear weapons if necessary to retain Crimea.
