May 27, 2024The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine proposes to verify residence data and the digitized image of a face during the re-registration of vehicles and the issuance of driver’s licenses.
According to this bill, the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) will verify individuals’ data from various registers when they apply for administrative services, such as obtaining driving rights, state registration (re-registration) and vehicle deregistration. Specifically, the following data will be checked:
- Information about the registered or declared place of residence (location) of the individual, their removal from registration or changes in residence (location).
- Details of the Ukrainian citizen’s passport, passport for traveling abroad, permanent residence permit, temporary residence permit, refugee certificate, certificate of a person in need of additional protection and certificate of a person granted temporary protection.
- The unique record number in the register.
- Digitized image of the individual’s face.
Previously, we reported that service centers of the MIA are experiencing a surge in activity. It appears that due to the new mobilization law, many men are rushing to re-register their vehicles in the names of women.
We also published data from the MIA showing that in three weeks of April, the number of vehicle re-registrations in Ukraine increased by 42%, reaching 154,178 operations.
