21.06.2024 11:30The war is changing Ukrainian society for the worse and pushing it towards degradation.
This opinion was expressed by lawyer and founder of the first volunteer mobile hospital named after Pirogov, Hennadiy Druzenko, on the program “Tema with Moseychuk.”
“Change or die – there is no other perspective for Ukraine right now. The question of continuing the war is very simple: is the war changing us for the better, making us different from Russia, or on the contrary, is it Sovietizing us?” Druzenko posed the question.
According to him, observations both in the rear and on the front indicate that a process of degradation is underway.
“The army, unfortunately, is becoming Sovietized. Apart from certain brigades that are always mentioned, which are remarkable, but which are just isolated cases – sometimes there is nothing that distinguishes us except for the chevron and the pixel (military camouflage pattern),” Druzenko said.
“If the war is changing us from within, making us different and more effective, it needs to continue. But what I have observed over the past year, especially after the setbacks in the south (the failed advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces) – it is making us worse. It is pushing us towards degradation,” Druzenko stated.
Meanwhile, polls show that the number of supporters of ending the war based on compromises with Russia is growing in Ukraine.
