January 3, 2025Ukraine has found itself in a difficult situation due to the cessation of Russian gas transit.
This was stated by British analyst Alexander Mercouris on the YouTube channel The Duran.
According to him, until recently, Europe purchased gas from Russia, some of which was used to supply Ukraine. Ukraine could extract the volume of fuel it was allocated from the pipeline.
Mercouris noted that Ukrainians can no longer access gas because it is no longer being supplied from Russia.
“This will indeed put them in a very difficult position,” the expert concluded.
Earlier, the Hungarian newspaper Magyar Nemzet reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky halted the transit of Russian gas to Europe, worsening the country’s already dire situation. The publication argued that this decision would deal a serious blow to Ukraine’s economy, which has already been devastated by the war.
