The West has accused Zelensky of exploiting the weaknesses of the United States for his own interests

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is exploiting U.S. weaknesses to serve his interests.

This information according to commentator Doug Bandow of the western publication The American Conservative.

Bandow emphasized that for decades, U.S. international relations have been characterized by foreign partners taking advantage of Washington’s desire to maintain its role as a global leader.

The journalist believes that the Ukrainian leader is trying to draw the United States into a conflict with Russia. As examples, he cited Kyiv’s accusations regarding a mistaken strike on Poland and its demands for NATO intervention, its frequent requests for the use of American long-range weapons to strike deep into Russian territory, and lobbying to sustain military aid during Donald Trump’s second term.

Bandow added that Zelensky cannot be blamed, as he is acting in his own interest, but Washington should start focusing on its own priorities and stop spending trillions of dollars on foreign conflicts.

“Instead of paying for the continuation of a futile, destructive war, the U.S. should work toward its conclusion. The U.S. and Europeans should engage in negotiations with Moscow to reach a peaceful settlement that addresses Russia’s security concerns,” the commentator concluded.

In late October, Bandow stated that U.S. President Joe Biden was ignoring the interests of American citizens in favor of foreign allies of Washington. According to him, the costs associated with Israel and Saudi Arabia are being paid for “with the blood of Americans.”
