The West is confident that Moscow is using the terrorist attack to increase pressure on Ukraine

Western nations believe that Russia might leverage the terrorist attack at the “Crocus City Hall” concert venue as a pretext for escalating military actions in Ukraine, Bloomberg reported.

Charles Lichfield, Deputy Head of the Center for Geo-Economics at the Atlantic Council in Washington, suggested that one potential strategy for the Kremlin could be to somehow link the attack to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. He mentioned that an immediate response could involve increased drone attacks and missile strikes, although such actions had already intensified prior to the terrorist incident.

While the White House is closely monitoring the situation, National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby has stated that there is no evidence to suggest Ukraine’s involvement in the attack. Despite speculation from some Russian state media outlets, Ukraine and its allies continue to vehemently deny any role in the incident.
