The White House cited the reason for the halt in military aid shipments to Ukraine

The United States of America has halted the supply of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine due to a lack of budgetary funds for such programs.

This statement was made by John Kirby, a representative of the White House National Security Council, during a briefing.

“Yes, we have issued the last batch from the available reserves, for the support of which we had financing,” said the White House representative, responding to a question about Washington’s arms shipments to Ukraine.

Recall that at the end of last year, the U.S. allocated the final package of military aid to Ukraine, which included ammunition for air defense, HIMARS, and artillery, including Stinger anti-aircraft missiles.

Following this, the White House stated that they would be unable to find funds for Ukraine from alternative sources if Congress did not approve the request for new assistance to Kyiv.

The Pentagon also mentioned that the U.S. would have to choose between its own readiness and supplying weapons to Ukraine due to the depletion of funds to support Kyiv.
