In the document published by Mekler, it is stated that the action is being implemented to draw the government’s attention to the difficult situation of companies and their employees in the transportation sector. Protesters demand the establishment of a separate queue for empty Ukrainian trucks in the “e-ShlyaKh” system, the setting of a limit on ECMT permits for trucks weighing more than seven tons, and the introduction of a ban on registration and the withdrawal of existing licenses from transport companies with capital outside the European Union.
It is worth noting that the new Minister of Agriculture of Poland, Cheslav Sekerski, has already expressed being “principally against” the continuation of duty-free trade with Ukraine. It was also reported that Ukraine and Poland had agreed on an action plan to unblock the border. However, changes to the current agreement on liberalization of freight transport, which Polish carriers are demanding, were not discussed.
