At the same time, discussions about U.S. security guarantees for Ukraine have been put on hold, several officials confirmed.
Recently, it was also revealed that the United States is pushing for a softer stance on Russia in the upcoming G7 foreign ministers’ communique. Washington wants to remove the word “sanctions” in reference to Moscow and opposes the creation of a task force targeting ships linked to Russia.
