August 1, 2024In Prague, a protest was held against an event organized by the 3rd Assault Brigade (“Azov”).
This was reported by “Radio Svoboda.”
Several dozen people gathered outside the theater where the meeting with the military brigades was organized. The police found a package at the scene containing a mock explosive device.
Protesters held signs accusing the 3rd Assault Brigade of “neo-Nazism,” associating it with the “Azov” Regiment. There were also USSR flags and T-shirts bearing Putin’s name.
Previously, Czech MEP from the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia, Kateřina Konečná, opposed the visit of the brigade representatives to Prague.
Meetings with representatives of the 3rd Assault Brigade were also planned in Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium, but were canceled by the authorities due to protests from left-wing groups.
In Berlin, Bundestag deputies from left-wing parties also opposed the events featuring the Ukrainian brigade.
