The military ombudsman accused TCC of aggressive actions against Ukrainians and demanded their removal from the streets
06.08.2025 - 13:32A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President’s special envoy Stephen Witkoff took place in the Kremlin and lasted about three hours.
So far, only the Russian side has provided brief comments on the talks.
Presidential aide Yury Ushakov described the conversation between Putin and Witkoff as “useful and constructive.”According to him, Witkoff conveyed “certain signals” from Trump regarding Ukraine, and Putin, in turn, passed his own signals to the U.S. president through Witkoff.
“It was a very useful and constructive conversation. As for the topics — first and foremost, of course, was the Ukrainian crisis. The second topic was the prospects for possible development of strategic cooperation between the U.S. and Russia. From our side, in particular on the Ukrainian issue, certain signals were conveyed. Corresponding signals were also received from President Trump. Trump has not yet been briefed on the results of this meeting, so I would refrain from more detailed comments for now. Let’s see when Witkoff will be able to report to Trump on today’s conversation. After that, we will likely be able to add more substantial comments,” Ushakov said.
Putin’s special representative Kirill Dmitriev also reacted to the meeting, calling the visit of Trump’s envoy to Moscow a success.
“Thanks to everyone for the kind wishes for a successful visit by Steve Witkoff to Moscow. Dialogue will prevail,” Dmitriev wrote on X after the talks concluded.
