‘They take turns with everyone in bed’: Chaplain’s statement about female medics at the front caused a scandal on social media

Chaplain Mark Sergeev’s comments about female medics on the front lines caused a scandal online.

“Seriously, it’s just crazy. Imagine a girl, 24 years old, with model looks, she’s a medic, and she’s in a company with SSO guys. They’re all pumped up, bodybuilders. So, basically, they take turns with her in bed. It’s just trash. That’s how they live. And then she gets pregnant and takes a time-out,” Sergeev stated.

Several female paramedics condemned his words.

“No civilian jerk has the right to open his f@#king mouth about women in the military. Go to the front lines and replace those women who, in his opinion, are doing something improper there,” said paramedic Alina Mikhaylova.

Meanwhile, The New York Times writes that many Ukrainian women cannot find men due to the war and mobilization.

“Tens of thousands of men have died. Even more are on the front lines, some have fled the country, and others do not want to leave their homes, fearing being mobilized on the streets. In cities like Kyiv, the presence of men has noticeably decreased. In some villages, conscription has depleted the male population,” the publication reports.

According to the government, last year Ukraine had the worst number of births in 10 years and the second-worst number of registered marriages.
