August 5, 2024On August 1, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a package of amendments to the Tax Code, which includes a 15% military levy on the price of a car during its first registration in Ukraine. The “Sluga Naroda” party described these new measures as a “luxury tax.”
This was stated by MP Volodymyr Kreidenko.
“A 15% military levy on the purchase of a new car is a type of luxury tax,” Kreidenko said.
In his opinion, buying a new car from a showroom during the war is “not a primary necessity.”
Kreidenko noted that he is “surprised” that in 2024, sales of new cars have already increased by 7%.
