‘Flee at any cost’: toughening mobilization in Ukraine will increase the number of draft dodgers – Der Spiegel
22.02.2024 05:38Former advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine, Alexei Arestovich, responded to criticism directed at him after he referred to himself as Russian.
His response came in an interview with blogger Nikolai Feldman.
“Ideological leaders of Ukrainian nationalism claim that it is bad to call oneself Russian because Russians are not people at all. This is racism, my friends… You brainless guppies, you don’t understand that with your cries, not only do you motivate Russians to fight us, to finish us off completely, so that there is nothing left of the political Ukraine that you are bringing to life, but also, when people are told for two years that they are swine-dogs, sooner or later a person stands up in their Salekhard, picks up a rifle, and goes to kill you to end it once and for all. You can’t tell people for two years that they are swine-dogs. You create motivation for them,” said Arestovich.
According to him, Western countries are also starting to change their attitude towards Ukraine because of this.
“Our Western allies, having heard all this, say, ‘Maybe we shouldn’t have taken on this task of helping? Why should we expose ourselves to a nuclear strike for this?'” Arestovich said.
Recall that Arestovich declared himself Russian during a recent interview with Russian journalist Yulia Latynina. He also claimed that within six months, Ukrainians will be spitting in the faces of Americans and Europeans.
