‘More than half of the domestic violence cases are perpetrated by military personnel’, – the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine said
20.06.2024 23:54Three former detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), who had been investigating corruption in “Ukrzaliznytsia” for years, immediately took jobs at this state company after their dismissal. Additionally, one of them received shares in enterprises that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine had been investigating.
This information was reported by “Ukrainian News,” citing lawyer Bohdan Ustymenko.
Taras Likunov, Bohdan Brovko, and Oleksandr Rykovtsev had been working at the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine since 2015, virtually since its inception. They rose to the positions of head of the detective department, his deputy, and senior detective. They resigned one after another over the past nine months and soon signed employment contracts with “Ukrzaliznytsia,” sometimes just days after their dismissal, despite the law prohibiting such actions within a year.
According to Ustymenko, Likunov personally ensured that his colleagues handed a suspicion notice to former “Ukrzaliznytsia” deputy director for security, Oleksandr Shevchenko. Shevchenko was dismissed, and Likunov took his position.
Additionally, Rykovtsev’s declaration suddenly included cryptocurrency worth about $870,000 and real estate. His father-in-law was appointed to a leadership position at the Odessa branch of “Ukrzaliznytsia.” Likunov acquired shares in major companies such as “Ferrexpo” and “Myronivsky Hliboproduct,” which were also subjects of criminal investigations by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
In April, it became known that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine uncovered a corruption scheme in “Ukrzaliznytsia” involving the purchase of transformers, organized by an official of the Security Service of Ukraine.
