U.S. President Donald Trump believes Kremlin Head Vladimir Putin will fulfill “his part of the deal” on a ceasefire in Ukraine.
Trump made this statement while speaking to journalists at the White House.
“I want to make sure he follows through. I believe he’ll do what he told me, and I think now he will fulfill his part of the deal,” said the U.S. President.
At the same time, Trump indicated he is prepared to increase economic pressure on Russia if necessary.
“I don’t want to impose secondary tariffs on his oil. But I think that’s something I would do if I felt he wasn’t getting the job done [in making a peace deal – Ed.]. I’ve already done it with Venezuela,” the U.S. President added.
