U.S. President Donald Trump indicates Ukraine demanded NATO membership in exchange for signing the “tough” resource deal.
The American leader made this statement while speaking to journalists at the White House.
“I see that he (Zelensky – Ed.) tried to change the terms of the rare earth metals deal. We already prepared this deal. Everything’s done. And now I’ve heard from journalists that he’s willing to agree to the deal in exchange for NATO membership or something like that. That was never discussed, first of all.
Second, Putin has long said that Ukraine should not join NATO. That’s exactly why the war started,” said the U.S. President.
