There were “very good talks” on the Russia–Ukraine issue.
This was stated by U.S. President Donald Trump while speaking with journalists aboard Air Force One.
“Today we had very good talks on the Russian-Ukrainian issue. Maybe something will change,” the American leader said.
He also noted that there have been “very good” talks with Iran. Trump emphasized that the U.S. side is communicating extensively and constructively with all parties involved.
As a reminder, according to Reuters, the United States is seeking to reach a peace agreement with Russia as early as March and to hold elections in Ukraine as soon as possible. However, according to Reuters’ sources, these deadlines will likely be pushed back due to the lack of agreement on the key issue of control over Donetsk Oblast and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that today the Ukrainian delegation will brief him on sensitive aspects of the talks in Abu Dhabi that cannot be discussed by phone.
A new round of talks on Ukraine, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, will take place soon, but there is no exact date yet.
