US President Donald Trump intends to agree a deal on Ukraine with Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping by November, the terms of which Kyiv and Europe will be left to accept.
This is reported in a piece on the parameters of the agreement being prepared.
The basis of the arrangements is to be the freezing of the front line along its current position. In addition, the deal includes the full lifting of sanctions on Russia, the enshrining of Russian as a state language, and a neutral status for Ukraine without joining NATO.
A separate element of the agreement is named as China’s status — it will act as guarantor of the arrangements.
Kyiv, according to the described terms, will receive American security guarantees. However, they will apply with a strict caveat — only until the first violation of the agreement by Ukraine itself.
Trump’s main lever in this scheme is named as the complete cutting off of support if Kyiv derails the peace.
