“Trump will once again revise his position and soon propose that Zelensky sign a capitulation,” – said Medvedev
24.09.2025 10:01Oleksiy Honcharenko, a member of parliament from the “European Solidarity” party, said he does not share the enthusiasm over U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent remarks.
He made this statement on his Telegram channel.
Honcharenko argued that the U.S. president “wants to show Putin who’s boss at the expense of Ukrainian lives — and Volodymyr Zelensky is very happy about it.”
He pointed out that in his post on Truth Social, Trump stressed that Ukraine could reclaim its territory “with the support of the EU — that is, without the United States.”
“If translated correctly into Ukrainian, it sounds like this: ‘Volodymyr, Ukrainians will show you on behalf of both the U.S. and the EU.’ And the funniest part is that Zelensky is very glad about this response. But maybe we should stop defending the interests of the U.S. or the EU at the cost of Ukrainian lives? If the U.S. wants to respond to Russia, let it join the war. Because what it boils down to is: all these powerful military states want to show Putin who’s boss — but at the expense of Ukrainian lives. How about no,” Honcharenko said.
He added that Trump’s statement was not about Ukraine’s victory but about washing his hands of the war.
“He’s saying outright: you sort this out with the EU. I hope you manage. Good luck to you all!” the MP wrote.
