Trump will strip Kyiv of support and break with NATO, former Pentagon chief says

In the event of Donald Trump’s election to the presidency in 2024, as part of his initial move, he may deprive Kyiv of support, stated former Pentagon chief Mark Esper in an interview with MSNBC.

“I think if this happens, all efforts to support Ukraine in its war against Russia will eventually unravel because the United States is kind of a big block in the Jenga tower. Remove us, and everything collapses,” he noted.

Moreover, Esper added that Trump’s next step could well be the initiation of the U.S. withdrawal from NATO, along with the withdrawal of American troops from alliance countries. Ultimately, this could lead to the collapse of the entire alliance,” believes the former U.S. Secretary of Defense.
