24.11.2024 14:57In the circle of newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump, there are individuals who may be willing to hand Ukraine over to Russia’s control if Russia breaks its alliance with China.
This assumption was made by the British newspaper The Guardian.
“Russia has always demanded a demilitarized Ukraine under de facto political control of the Kremlin. There are people in Trump’s circle who may agree to this, especially if Russia severs its military ties with China,” the publication writes.
However, the journalists are not sure that Putin would abandon his strategic partnership with Chinese President Xi Jinping “for the sake of an unstable America.”
“Even sacrificing contacts with Tehran could be a bad deal for Putin,” the article states.
Earlier, U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham stated that Ukraine and the U.S. could strike a “good deal” regarding mineral resources.
