“Leaving as best they can”: MP Bezuhla claims that the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not receive an order to retreat from the Kursk region
17.03.2025 09:14The expulsion of Russians from occupied Ukrainian territories does not align with America’s national interests and could escalate into World War III.
This statement was made by Mike Waltz, an advisor to former U.S. President Donald Trump, in response to an ABC News journalist’s question about whether resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict means that Russia would retain control over the territories it has seized.
“We must ask ourselves: does this (the war to reclaim Ukraine’s territories occupied by Russia – Ed.) serve our national interests? Is it realistic? We’ve discussed this with both Europeans and Ukrainians. Are we really going to expel every Russian from every inch of Ukrainian land, including Crimea? The Biden administration’s strategy has been to (support Ukraine’s military efforts – Ed.) ‘for as long as it takes, regardless of the timeframe,’ which essentially means an endless war, while we are literally losing hundreds of thousands of people in just a few months. And this could escalate into World War III,” Waltz said.
Previously, The Independent reported that Kyiv had come to terms with losing part of its territories but had set “red lines.”
It is also worth noting that, according to U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, the United States has discussed territorial concessions with Ukraine during negotiations.
