The U.S. is withdrawing from the international group investigating Russia’s crimes in Ukraine – The New York Times
17.03.2025 09:20The withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) from the Kursk region was not planned, and units are leaving “as best they can” without receiving orders.
This statement was made by Ukrainian MP Maryana Bezuhla, who described the situation as “another miscalculation.”
“People are not receiving any orders to withdraw; each unit is leaving as best they can. This is barbaric on Syrskyi’s part! The operation was necessary, and holding positions was important, especially now,” Bezuhla wrote.
Previously, both Putin and Trump claimed that Ukrainian forces had been encircled in the Kursk region. We analyzed the implications of this in a separate report.
Meanwhile, President Zelensky stated that Russian forces are attempting to encircle UAF troops not in the Kursk region but in a neighboring area of Ukraine. According to him, there are no encircled Ukrainian troops near Kursk, and UAF operations in certain areas there are ongoing.
