Trump believes that a peace agreement in Ukraine is “very close”
26.11.2025 - 05:31Officials in the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump believe that Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin will reject the peace plan after the changes made in Geneva.
This was reported by The New York Times.
“Some members of the Trump administration believe that the changes to the peace agreement, worked out following meetings between American and Ukrainian negotiators in Geneva, may lead to Russian President Vladimir Putin immediately rejecting it,” the publication says.
Let us recall that Putin has made it clear he will not accept the European and Ukrainian amendments to the U.S. peace plan.
Earlier, Ukrainian outlets, citing sources, reported that in the revised draft of the U.S. peace plan for Ukraine, the wording about “limiting” the size of the Ukrainian army to 600,000 troops was removed — instead, it now states that the size of the Ukrainian army “will remain” at a certain level.
