Polish defense minister orders declassification of all military aid to Ukraine for 2022–2026
06.07.2026 19:00On the eve of the NATO summit, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk asked the Polish delegation, led by President Karol Nawrocki, to refrain from making statements that would entail new financial commitments by the country to Ukraine.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing Tusk’s press conference.
According to the prime minister, Warsaw already bears a significant burden in securing the eastern border of the European Union, and any new decisions must take into account the country’s own defense spending.
Tusk emphasized, however, that his position does not mean abandoning support for Ukraine.
“It is not because I think Ukraine does not need financial support. I believe that Poland has very significant obligations along the entire eastern border of the EU, and everyone must take this into account,” — Tusk said.
The prime minister also noted that it is Poland that today bears the primary burden of protecting the eastern borders of the European Union from external threats, despite the ongoing war in Ukraine.
