U.S. Defense Secretary to skip ‘Ramstein’ format meeting on Ukraine for the first time – AP

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to miss Ukraine “Ramstein” meeting for the first time — not even attending virtually.

The meeting is scheduled for June 4 — that is, today.

“Pete Hegseth, who returned on Sunday from a national security conference in Singapore, will only arrive in Brussels on Wednesday evening, after the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group has concluded. A U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Hegseth will also not participate via videoconference,” the outlet reports.

Recall that during the previous “Ramstein” meeting, the U.S. Defense Secretary for the first time stepped back from a leading role, with the meeting instead chaired by the British.
