Case involving substandard spare parts for Ukrainian armored vehicles sent to court
28.05.2026 17:01The United States Embassy in Ukraine has stated that it continues to operate in Kyiv in normal mode, denying reports of its departure from the Ukrainian capital.
The denial was published on the diplomatic mission’s official page on the social network X.
“The U.S. Embassy is open. There are no changes to our operations, and all other reports are false,” the post reads.
The embassy also stated that the U.S. State Department continuously assesses the security situation in Kyiv and the condition of American citizens. The diplomatic mission emphasized that the State Department “has no higher priority than the safety of Americans” and urged its citizens to refrain from traveling to Ukraine.
The denial was prompted by remarks from European diplomacy chief Kaja Kallas, who stated that the United States had evacuated its embassy in Kyiv while the diplomatic missions of all European countries remained in place. According to her, “all Europeans stayed, the U.S. left.” Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry also denied Kallas’s claim that the American embassy had left Kyiv.
Against the backdrop of these statements, Russia’s Foreign Ministry announced new strikes on Kyiv, citing a Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on Starobilsk as justification. The Russian ministry’s statement said that the Ukrainian strike “overflowed the cup of patience” and that Russia’s armed forces are proceeding to carry out successive strikes against facilities of Ukraine’s military-industrial complex in Kyiv.
