November 9, 2023Czech President Petr Pavel has stated that Russia and Ukraine may enter into negotiations next year. He mentioned these timeframes at the “Diplomacy and Security” conference.
This information reported by the BBC.
According to the Czech leader, in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, time is on Moscow’s side. He believes that Kyiv will be willing to engage in negotiations because the situation on the frontlines suggests that Ukraine is unlikely to gain a military advantage in the near future.
“Time is currently working in Russia’s favor, as it has a strong mobilization base of manpower. By buying time, it can also replenish its material resources, which it has been lacking for some time,” Pavel said.
Previously, Pavel had discussed the consequences of Ukraine’s fall and emphasized that in such a scenario, “we will all fall.” In his view, the current conflicts cannot be resolved by simply listening to both sides and finding a compromise between their interests.
