Ukraine has declined to accept Australian fighter jets, referring to them as “trash”

Ukraine rejected receiving decommissioned Hornet fighter jets from Australia, as reported by the Australian Financial Review.

“We don’t need your flying trash,” quoted the publication, citing words from a senior Ukrainian official in the air force. As a result, relations between the countries became strained. Now, Kyiv is unlikely to count on military support from Canberra, which is one of the largest military donors to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Recall that Ukraine had previously requested decommissioned helicopters from Australia, but in that case, Canberra refused to transfer them and decided to dispose of the aircraft.
