In Ukraine, clergy have been allowed to be exempted from mobilization as critically important for the economy
December 27, 2024Ukraine is running out of the long-range missiles supplied by Western countries, which is why the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are launching them against Russian territory less frequently.
This was reported by the American newspaper The New York Times.
According to the article, the solid-fuel tactical ballistic missiles ATACMS, authorized for use with much fanfare, have not become the “game-changer” they were expected to be, much like the HIMARS rocket systems, Abrams tanks, and F-16 fighter jets before them.
The U.S. supplied only a small number of ATACMS—just dozens of units. Similarly, the stock of British Storm Shadow missiles is also dwindling. Ukraine is unlikely to receive additional supplies, especially with the potential return of Donald Trump, who has criticized long-range strikes on Russia.
Ukraine used most of the missiles immediately, targeting preselected objectives. Now, it is using the remaining missiles more cautiously as their stockpile is “limited.”
NATO officials have stated that the “effectiveness of the missiles was limited and did not alter the trajectory of the war.” However, the escalation feared by some did not occur.
American officials believe that Moscow is avoiding further escalation until Trump takes office, as Russia is already maintaining steady progress on the frontlines.
