Anti-Ukrainian rhetoric is bearing fruit: AfD is becoming the most popular party in Germany
12.08.2025 16:30Ukraine is approaching the upcoming meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, scheduled for August 15 in Alaska, under unfavorable conditions.
According to the publication, the Russian Armed Forces “are exerting very strong pressure along the entire front line,” which is significantly complicating Kyiv’s position. Intensified attacks and constant shelling, analysts say, are creating additional difficulties for Ukraine in holding key positions.
“In essence, the situation on the battlefield is developing not in Ukraine’s favor,” Le Temps cites military experts as saying.
Earlier, Julian Röpcke, a journalist for the German newspaper Bild, also expressed concern about developments in the east of the country, particularly in the Donbas region. He noted that in recent weeks there has been an increase in the intensity of fighting, and Ukrainian forces are facing a shortage of resources and the need to respond quickly to changes in the enemy’s tactics.
The upcoming Putin–Trump talks, according to commentators, could influence the dynamics of the conflict, though their outcome remains unpredictable. Some experts believe Washington may attempt to propose new formats for settlement, while Moscow will seek to consolidate its position at the negotiating table, relying on successes on the front.
