04.04.2026 - 18:31Ukraine is not mentioned a single time in the U.S. draft budget for fiscal year 2027.
The text of the bill was published on the White House website.
Thus, in the 92-page document, Ukraine is not mentioned even once — neither in the context of funding nor weapons supplies.
It also turned out that the White House does not plan to spend money on humanitarian aid to Ukraine in 2027. At the same time, however, the United States intends to double its military budget to $1.5 trillion.
It should be noted that the same was true of the previous budget bill for the current year. There, Ukraine was mentioned only in the context of cuts to spending on non-governmental organizations.
In the current draft budget, even that reference is gone.
However, in 2025, Congress later added Ukraine funding on its own through the defense bill — including $400 million under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, as well as separate provisions on military and intelligence support.
It is worth recalling that U.S. President Donald Trump said that the United States “should never have gotten involved in Ukraine, which is thousands of miles away from us, across the ocean,” and called his predecessor Joe Biden “a fool.”
Earlier, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that too many weapons had been transferred to Ukraine during Biden’s presidency, which depleted Pentagon stockpiles.
