‘Ukraine may ask Europe to send troops to Ukraine’, – MP says

Kyiv may request the deployment of European troops to Ukraine if its own forces are insufficient.

This was stated by Ukrainian Member of Parliament Alexei Goncharenko in an interview with the French TV channel LCI.

“If the situation on the front shows us that Ukraine cannot stop Putin on its own, without European military support and troops, then yes, I believe it is absolutely possible that we may ask,” Goncharenko said.

It’s worth noting that earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron outlined two conditions for sending French troops to Ukraine: a breakthrough by Russia on the front and a request from Kyiv.

However, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated that she personally informed French President Emmanuel Macron of her disagreement with his proposal to send troops to Ukraine.

In turn, the Polish Ministry of Defense announced that Warsaw had refused Paris’s request to send its troops to Ukraine.
