Germany should assist Ukraine in sending male refugees to the front lines.

This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the state of Hesse, Roman Possek, in a report on the ARD channel, as reported by the Berlin newspaper Tagesspiegel.

Roman Possek represents the CDU party, which is not part of the ruling coalition.

“This could also include our assistance in ensuring that Ukraine can rely on men who have fled abroad but can be used in the war,” said the state minister. According to him, it is important to “support Ukraine’s defense readiness.”

He also commented on Ukraine’s refusal to issue passports to male refugees. Possek noted that in Germany, there are “few chances” of obtaining documents that would replace them.

“I am skeptical because I do not see any grounds for this. Ukraine is not a lawless state,” he said.

According to the ARD broadcaster, the issue of what to do with expired passports of Ukrainian conscripts will be discussed on Tuesday at the level of states and the federal Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is stated that Germany is “striving for a unified federal solution” on this matter.
