Ukraine is in its most severe military crisis since the Battle of Kyiv
11.02.2024 11:43This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in a conversation with former Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel, the Die Presse publication writes.
“Whether we like it or not, whether Ukrainians like it or not, Ukraine is where it is on the map. The best perspective for it would be to create a buffer zone between Russia and the West — of course, with security guarantees. If this does not happen, Ukraine will lose its country,” Orban said. He also believes that the war in Ukraine will not end in 2024.
Earlier, Viktor Orban has repeatedly spoken about the need to end the war through peaceful negotiations and has called for them to be held as soon as possible. He has also opposed providing additional financial and military assistance and has refused to supply military equipment to Ukraine or even provide Hungarian territory for the transit of aid from third countries.
