“Zelensky made it clear to the Servant of the People members that he intends to fight to the last, but with others’ hands,” – said MP Mazurashu
17.09.2025 10:01Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Ukraine rejected the proposals that U.S. special envoy Steven Whitkoff delivered to Kyiv after the meeting of Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
The official said this at the ambassadors’ round table of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“He, as we know, conveyed to the Ukrainian side assessments of the results of the meeting in Alaska. And as we understood, these assessments, these considerations, the proposals are being rejected by the Kyiv regime,” Lavrov said.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry claims that Kyiv is sabotaging U.S. efforts and is trying, together with Europe, “to convince Trump to abandon peacekeeping efforts and return to confrontation with Russia.”
According to him, Moscow and Washington discussed, in particular, the ban on the UOC, and “in the United States they understand that the violation of human rights in Ukraine is unacceptable.”
Lavrov also stated that Western military personnel, if sent to Ukraine, “will in fact be occupation troops and legitimate targets for Russian forces.”
Finally, he reported that Russia insists on concluding a global agreement on Ukraine.
“Ceasefire and a settlement agreement did not work. Territorial exchanges or an attempt to entice Putin with the restoration of trade with the United States on the issue of Ukraine will not work,” the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.
It should be recalled that yesterday Volodymyr Zelensky gave an interview in which he criticized Trump for the absence of tough sanctions against Russia. The Ukrainian president stated that “the only way to stop hostilities is first to implement certain security guarantees.”
