This information reported according to Politico.
Politico reports that Poland’s ruling party, “Law and Justice,” is increasingly taking a tougher stance towards Ukraine in its struggle for political survival ahead of the upcoming general elections next month.
The publication quotes politician Slawomir Mentzen, who directly accused Kyiv of using Poland for its own interests, stating,
“They took the cash, and now they will declare a trade war on us.”
Politico reminds readers that Poland, along with Hungary and Slovakia, closed its markets to the import of Ukrainian grain in violation of European Union single market rules, citing the need to protect its farmers from falling prices.
The latest blow to relations with Kyiv came from Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki’s statement that Poland would cease arms shipments to Ukraine.
