President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, received a “cold reception” in Washington.

This information reported according to the American publication Axios.

The publication notes that the two-minute standing ovations the Ukrainian president received in Congress last year “seem like a distant dream compared to what he encountered during his second military trip to Washington.”

An Ukrainian source informed Axios that Zelenskyy’s meeting with U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and other members of the House of Representatives was “very open and direct.” Another source mentioned that Zelenskyy was “somewhat encouraged” by what he heard from American lawmakers but left Capitol Hill “very realistic” about the situation, especially when it comes to the House of Representatives.

The publication points out that Zelenskyy was disappointed not only by Republicans but also by Democrats, as the Biden administration has yet to approve the delivery of ATACMS (Advanced Tactical Missile System).
