Almost half of Ukrainians believe it’s time to end the TV marathon – survey
12.11.2024 13:15Ukraine has been developing its own “victory plan” with consideration for the possibility of Donald Trump winning the U.S. presidential election.
This information reported according to Financial Times, citing sources.
Two out of the three points in the plan were aimed at attracting Trump’s interest and were presented to him by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting in September. These points included replacing part of the American troops in Europe with Ukrainian forces and leveraging Ukraine’s natural resources.
The source claimed that Trump showed “interest” in these two points.
American and European allies, including senior Republicans, had advised Kyiv on how to better frame these proposals to encourage closer cooperation with Washington should Trump become president.
Additionally, Ukraine proposed granting Trump oversight over investors to ensure that Chinese investments do not dominate. This would allow sectors dependent on Beijing to transition to U.S. suppliers.
The Financial Times also confirmed reports that a replacement for Ukraine’s ambassador to the U.S., Oksana Markarova, is being prepared.
It is worth noting that recent reports indicate Trump intends to bring Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table on his first day as U.S. president.
