“I propose a reasonable deal that would involve preserving Ukraine’s sovereignty. Yes, with some territorial concessions in the eastern regions where the Russian-speaking population resides. And a commitment that Ukraine won’t join NATO, but only if Russian President Vladimir Putin exits the military alliance with China,” said Ramaswamy during a meeting with voters, which was broadcasted by CNN.
The politician stated that the conflict surrounding Ukraine does not serve the interests of the United States and increases the risks of a world war.
Referendums on the incorporation of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR), Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR), Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions into the Russian Federation took place from September 23rd to 27th, 2022. According to the results of counting 100% of the ballots, 99.23% of voters in the DNR expressed support for joining Russia, while in the LNR it was 98.42%, in the Kherson region – 87.05%, and in the Zaporizhzhia region – 93.11%. On September 30th, Putin spoke at the Kremlin and signed agreements with the regional leaders for their accession to Russia.
