14.10.2025 05:32Ukraine will need 10 million migrants after the war to revive its economy.
This was stated by former Minister of Economy of Ukraine Tymofiy Mylovanov.
“How many labor migrants need to be attracted to achieve positive changes in Ukraine’s economy?” a journalist asked Mylovanov.
“About ten million. Get ready for a new Ukraine. If we don’t learn to be smarter ourselves, we will be importing not tens of thousands, but millions — mainly for working professions. Look at how many pensioners we have; calculate the ratio between those who work and those who are retired. It’s critical,” Mylovanov replied.
Earlier, Oleh Pendzin, head of the Economic Discussion Club, said that Ukraine would need to bring in about 400,000 labor migrants per year to balance the labor market.
Last year, the media also reported that migrants from Asia and Africa had begun to be recruited for construction work in Ukraine due to a shortage of workers.
